Where BeED services are provided to educational institutions, the institution acts as the Data Controller for student personal data. BeED acts as a Data Processor, processing student personal data solely on behalf of and under the instructions of the educational institution.
Educational institutions are responsible for obtaining parental or guardian consent where required, providing privacy notices to students and parents or guardians, and ensuring compliance with applicable education, privacy and data protection laws.
BeED shall not be responsible for privacy practices or data processing activities conducted by educational institutions outside the BeED platform.
Personal data may be processed based on: user consent, contractual necessity, legal obligations, and legitimate interests such as improving platform services and security.
BeED is committed to being explicit about the lawful basis for all processing as required under the General Data Protection Regulation and the Indonesia Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 27 of 2022).
By using BeED services, users acknowledge and consent to the transfer and processing of their personal data outside Indonesia in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

BeED platforms may involve minors. Personal data of minors may be processed only when authorised by an educational institution, or consent is provided by a parent or legal guardian.

Educational institutions retain ownership of student data and educational records. BeED retains ownership of platform software, system architecture, algorithms and analytics tools, and anonymized and aggregated usage data.
BeED may use anonymized aggregated data for service improvement, analytics, research, and platform development. Such data will not identify individual users or institutions. BeED does not sell personal data to third parties.
Personal data may be transferred to and stored in jurisdictions including Malaysia, Singapore, the European Union, and other countries where our service providers operate. Cross-border data transfers are conducted in accordance with applicable Indonesian data protection laws.

Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described or legal obligations. Unless required by law, personal data will generally not be retained longer than six (6) years. Following termination, BeED may retain data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements.
In the event of a data breach affecting personal data, BeED will investigate promptly, notify affected parties where required, and notify regulatory authorities where applicable. Where required under Indonesian law, BeED will notify affected users and relevant authorities without undue delay.

BeED shall not be liable for loss of data resulting from system outages, internet disruptions, cyberattacks, user error, or third-party infrastructure failures. Educational institutions are encouraged to maintain backup copies of critical data.

BeED does not make automated decisions that produce legal or significant effects on individuals.
BeED may use artificial intelligence, machine learning and automated systems to enhance platform functionality, including recommendations, analytics and content generation. Such systems may process anonymised and aggregated data to improve performance, accuracy and user experience.
AI-generated outputs may not always be accurate or complete and should not be relied upon without independent verification. BeED does not use personal data to train AI models in a manner that identifies individual users unless permitted by law or with appropriate safeguards.
